DERSALON is looking for WRITERS to join MAD HOURS WRITERS WORKSHOP: an informal, in-person writing workshop in BERLIN, launched this October. Open to writers of all genres and forms, writing in ENGLISH. Prose, poetry, short stories, fragments, finished pieces, rogue sparks, novel ideas, bizarre beginnings: whatever form the writing takes, it is welcome. Mad Hours is a space to bring the work out of isolation and into conversation. A traditional workshop at heart: a writer shares their work, receives immediate feedback and the group reads, listens, discusses, questions and thinks together. But also something looser: a space for discussions and experimentations. The workshop is led by Kiana Palombo, a writer and publishing mentor, who will bring structure, materials and resources to each gathering. The aim being not simply to gather writers in a room and hope something happens, but to invite exchange, affirmation and conflict.
Each gathering takes a particular topic or aspect of writing as its starting point, from the beginnings of short stories to the endings of poems, from writing about oneself to making up new worlds. Writers will be invited to experiment with unfamiliar forms, push beyond their usual ways of working and see what happens when they try something new.
Each workshop can be booked individually, so you can join the topics that speak to you. To keep the group small while making each session accessible to more people, every workshop will run twice. To book a place, use the form below or email us directly with the title and date of the workshop you’d like to join. ,,,,,,,,,,,,
